Teen Leadership Overnight Camp

YMCA Camp Cory believes that developing young leaders is one of the most important things we can do. Nearly 90% of our staff have gone through our Leadership Programs.

LIT (Leaders in Training)

• Program 1 (Sessions 3-4), July 11 - 24
• Program 2 (Sessions 7-8) , August 8 -21

A fun and rewarding introduction to developing leadership and teamwork skills while learning what it takes to be a camp counselor. Campers participate in hands-on learning during part of the day and spend the remainder of the day in general camp activities. Special campfires and activities are designed for the LIT group. This program runs in two-week sessions. No special registration form required.

Rates and Registration Options

CIT (Counselors in Training)

Program 1 (Session 1-4), June 27 - July 24

Session 2 (Session 5-8), June 25 - August 21

This four-week program allows teens to experience camp as a counselor does, while learning leadership skills and making lifelong friends. Two weeks of learning and service projects, similar to our Camp Cory staff training program, are followed by two weeks of "behind the scenes", hands-on learning, including assisting counselors with cabin supervision and leading activities. Participants receive training in CPR, First Aid, and Life guarding. Special campfires and field trips make this a memorable experience.
