It's the Gorham way of life!

We treat others the way we want to be treated at camp so come prepared to live by these 4 cornerstone's of character as we enjoy each session!

Summer fun 2009

Camp Gorham is tons of fun for everyone with just the right combination of choice and group activities.

Every morning at Camp Gorham we get the day off to a great start with our Specialty Tracks! Each camper will choose three weekly specialty tracks such as sailing, swimming, mountain biking, archery, athletics, drama or horse back riding (please note due to ranch camp session 1 & 2 no horse specialty tracks are available). These specialty tracks are taught by our outstanding staff!

Afternoons at Camp Gorham keep the fun coming with the following schedule:

Big Moose and Adirondack Villages:

One period for Free Swim, Open Boat time or volleyball and sand castle building lead by our Waterfront staff. Our spetacular 400 acre lake is the perfect afternoon location for fun, fun, fun!

One period for Cabin activity (campers do activities with their cabin group and cabin counselors) Rotation each day in arts and crafts, archey, Adirondack Adventure (a hike or kayak trip on our property) athletics and Horse back riding.

Frontier and Lumberjack Villages:

One period of a choice activity for just these two villages such as advanced sailing, hiking or athletics PLUS one choice each day of an off site trip to local picturesque Adirondack Locations. Come see the Fulton Lakes Chain for the top of Bald Mountain, take in a waterfall at Cascade Lake. This is a great opportunity for our older campers to see the Adirondacks while still enjoying general camp.

One period of Free Swim, Open Boat time or land activities lead by our Waterfront Staff.
This gives our older campers an opportunity to enjoy our lake and their friends!

All-Camp Evening Activities: Village Campfires, Scavenger Hunt, The Great Race, Talent/Skit Night, Messenger Game, Camp Dance (for older villages only), Capture the Flag, Open Waterfront, Counselor Hunt and Gold Rush.

Stay for two weeks and get to experience our fantastic weekends at camp which include a sports tournament, Sunday Fun Day Carnival (each carnival has a special theme for extra fun), formal dinner and a movie night, Saturday afternoon Cabin Adventure where cabins explore Camp Gorham is many fun ways such as kayaking to the outlet, swimming at Sandy Beach or hiking to Porcupine Rock, sleep in Sunday Brunch and our chapel on Caring, Honesty, Respect and Responsibility!

WILDERNESS TRIPS

If you are ready for a new challenge at camp join our Wilderness Trip program and make new friends while exploring the Great Adirondacks! Our Camp Gorham trip staff are certified in Wilderness First aid, CPR and Life guarding. They are selected for their love of the outdoors and their ability to share this passion with children!

ONE WEEK TRIP ADVENTURES INCLUDE:

Basic Adventure Camp: (10 - 12 year old) Learn to make your own meals, sleep in an Adirondack shelter, paddle a canoe and see wildlife all on Camp Gorham's property!

Outdoor Adventure Camp: (12 - 14 year old) Feeling a little more adventurous? Then try our travel into the Adirondacks to learn cooking, see wildlife and perfect camping skills.

Adirondack Paddle: (12 - 14 year olds): Canoe on the picturesque Adirondack water ways to a fun filled experience!

Wet and Wild Adventures: (12 - 14 year olds)) See the Adirondacks in grand style white water rafting each day! This thrilling adventure will allow all adventure seeking to get their fill! Program filled for 2010

Pack and Paddle: (12 - 14 year olds) This perfectly balanced trip has participants back packing and paddling their way through the Adirondack's for a week filled with fun! Program filled for 2010

TWO WEEK TRIP ADVENTURE INCLUDE:

High Peaks Trek (14 - 16 year olds) : Camp Gorham will take a select 6 campers to hike some of the High Peaks of the Adirondacks. Simply spectacular this trip will surely make memories that last a life time.
