TITLE:	Buildings and Grounds Director

General Function:
Under the direction of the Executive Director, the Buildings & Grounds Director will develop and manage the overall maintenance and housekeeping of the facility.  A successful 
candidate will possess experience in property management, staff development and supervision, administration, budget development and vehicle maintenance.  The candidate should 
possess strong organizational skills as well as excellent communication skills.  The candidate will work with diverse populations and work force.  The position requires a commitment to 
meet superior member expectations in cleanliness and member service.

for ensuring that the mission, purpose, image and core values of the YMCA of Greater Rochester is conveyed.

Qualifications:
The Buildings & Grounds Director must possess a high school diploma and a valid New York State Driver’s License.  The position requires a broad background and skills in general 
maintenance including: HVAC systems, pool filtration systems, electrical, plumbing and energy management systems.  A Stationary Engineer Class III License is preferred and a 
Refrigeration License is desirable.  Candidates must have a minimum of 5 years of experience in building maintenance and facility management.  A thorough knowledge of building 
cleaning to include disinfection, carpet care, tile and hard floor maintenance, wood floor care and cleaning equipment maintenance are major components of this position.

Responsibilities
Performs mechanical repairs, (plumbing, electrical, carpentry, painting) as needed.  Hire, train, schedule and supervise maintenance/custodial staff team. Performs daily 
walk-through/inspection of branch.  Assists Executive Director with preparation of annual department budget.  Exhibits a friendly, positive, and helpful attitude toward staff, 
members and all others involved in the YMCA.  Maintains inventory of all tools, pool chemicals and cleaning supplies.  Performs repairs and preventative maintenance of fitness and 
program equipment.  Ensures branch is in full compliance with building codes and regulatory agencies.

Principle Activities
The member relations aspect of the position requires that relationship building be the number one priority at all times, attending to the needs and requests of 
health seekers, members, and all people within the YMCA in a courteous and friendly manner.

WAGE RANGE:		$17.00 - 18.36
