Volunteering at the Northwest Family YMCA
Volunteers at the Northwest Family YMCA contribute thousands of hours each year helping the YMCA build strong kids, strong families and strong communities. Whether you want to help people improve their overall health, support children and youth as they grow into adults, create a welcoming environment or simply make a difference in someone's life, the Northwest Family YMCA Branch has a wide variety of volunteer opportunities to match your passion, skills and schedule:
Volunteers are needed for a number of programs; including youth sports coaches, facility tour guides, and special event.
Support volunteers:
Work behind the Welcome Center Desk or around the grounds.
Fundraising volunteers:
Raise funds for our campaigns (annual, special or sustaining); work on endowment development; or work at/run special events.
Policy volunteers:
Serve on the Board of Management, and help to guide the programs and services at the Northwest Branch. Boards of Management are further divided into committee groups, which focus on finance, membership, marketing, financial development, program development and property/facility management.
Ambassadors Club:
The Ambassadors Club’s main focus is to help build relationships with members through participation and communication. Our Ambassadors serve as advocates in the community, and often assist with facility tours, serve as greeters and help with special events.
If you have any questions or would like to become a volunteer at the Northwest Family YMCA, please call Mary Ellen VanAuker, Membership/Volunteer/AOA Director at 723-3023 or via e-mail at maryellenv@rochesterymca.org
